In June 2014 she graduated from the School of Arts in Ghent (Illustration Program) after she already obtained a master’s degree in Cultural Studies. In her master project she tried to combine those two backgrounds (cultural studies + illustration) so she researched the possible role of the illustrator as an anthropologist. She made an illustrated anthropological monography about Zondereigen: a little rural village in Belgium. Before she started this project, she had never heard of this village and she didn’t know anyone who lived there. That was the starting point.
