Beugism is a London based illustrator. Born in East Berlin, after having studied Communication Design in Potsdam, he obtained his BA in Visual Arts in Liepzig. He then continued his formation in Bilbao and Warsaw, completing his studies in 2010, London, with a MA in illustration at Central Saint Martins. He says about himself:
"I have always drawn and created things. I guess the only difference now is that having been to art school kind of entitles me to officially call myself an 'artist'".
Beugism is an eclectic artist, drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources: Both crafts and drawings inspired by communist murals, 50' illustrations, surrealist paintings and everyday life - his future plans includes also snack machines.
“A Nest Box Formerly Known as Home” is the name of the exhibition taking place in the Direktorenhaus. As a result of a creative flow triggered by bird illustrations, the beauty of Beugism nest boxes is in the wide range of meanings that people see in them: Love, death and gradual alienation from home.
