YIA 2010 "Young Illustrator's Night" and exhibition of the nominees and winners of the Young Illustrator's Award
The Young Illustrators Award, the world’s most important prize for contemporary illustration, was awarded on November 5th at Direktorenhaus, Berlin. The nominees and the guests from the international creative industries have been welcomed with a grand gala dinner. The jury, consisting of renowned publicists and art experts, presented prizes to the winners in the categories of illustration, animation and book art.
This unique event, initiated by Illustrative, invites exchange between artists, art directors, journalists and creatives allowing discussion and celebration of illustration in its widest sense. The night includes performances, the new exhibition and of course further surprises that culminate in a glamorous Opening party at Direktorenhaus.
The exhibition showed all the Award’s winners and nominee’s works of all categories.
The 30 artists, whose 250 works were displayed on three floors, were present at the opening, too. It was a night full of artistic decadence and extremes. The exhibition of the YIA, that stayed at Direktorenhaus until the 23rd of December was accompanied by performers, fashion designers, musicians, dancers, DJs, and other creative folks from all over the world.
A glittering night for the european illustration community!
