She decided to put her knitting and craft skills to use in her stop motion graduation film, ‘Soft Plants’. The short introduces the character of chubby office-worker Willy.

Marc was born in 1978 in Johannesburg and studied animation at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. His graduation film ‘Concern’ (2001) garnered several international prizes and nominations. In 2007 he co-wrote and directed the short film ‘Mompelaar’ with Wim Reygaert which won, among others, the coveted Jury prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival in 2008 and was selected for the prestigious Berlin Film Festival in the same year. In 2009 he completed his third short, ‘A Gentle Creature’ produced by Epidemic Films.

In 2012 together they he wrote, directed and photographed the stop-motion short ‘Oh Willy…’ which has gone on to win over 80 awards worldwide, including the coveted Cartoon d’or. Marc & Emma also works as directors and modelmaker on commercials for Belgium, France and the UK. They are currently working on their next short film and developing an animated series.
