Nancy Liang (b.1990) is a Sydney-based illustrator whose work focuses on the night tales of urban landscapes, city streets and the often forgotten places of suburbia. She represents these subject matters using a mix of drawing and kraft paper cutouts carefully arranged in the visual form of a diorama. Her practice also extends off the canvas to the digital space where she animates her scenes in subtle and curious ways.
She has worked on digital projects with clients such as popular Australian broadcast network SBS and has received a number of national and international illustration awards from annuals such as 3×3, Communication Arts, Creative Quarterly and Illustrators Australia. In her spare time she creates looping animations and GIFs for her blog ‘Over The Moon’ that have been featured by creative platforms such as Adobe, Hi-Fructose and Colossal.
Currently she is collaborating with her creative partner on a unique large scale cultural installation with TfNSW that will be screened to the public later this year.
