His enthusiasm for technology and design increased naturally since he grew up in Esslingen, nearby the headquarter of Mercedes Benz. After graduating at the technical high school in Esslingen – Zell he successfully completed an apprenticeship in stonemasonry in Schlanders, South Tirol (Italy). During his BA at Potsdam University of Applied Sciences Jakob developed an approach to design objects which oscillate between contemporary art, traditional crafts and the latest technologies.

Every piece is designed and manufactured with a variety of different characteristics of crafts, technologies and materials. His marble vase, the second vase from this body of work, is firstly designed onto and sculpted directly out of a block of marble by hand and then internally CNC milled. The third vase is designed completely digitally, the functional unit is printed in 3D and lacquered. This work explores disappearance of volume through shape which is in this work created carbon stripes which outline the boarders of the body.

With this body of work Jakob Blazeczjak has created representatives for his vision of design and craft.
